| Competition: |
| Ministry of Education of
the Republic of Serbia (www.mps.sr.gov.rs) opens a competition for grants
each November. Competition is open until the end of December for the
upcoming academic year. |
The Ministry of Education sends a proposal to the
University of Novi Sad to accept a number of foreign students, according
to the agreements of cultural, educational, scientific and sports
cooperation between Serbia and other countries. |
| Foreign students can apply for grants that cover studies,
specialization or academic training. |

| If a foreign student is accepted by the Ministry of
Education, he/she will receive a monthly grant (15,000
dinars) or get the scholarship holder status with the right to reside in student dormitory and eat at student restaurants. Costs of accommodation and meals are covered by the student. Monthly expenses are around 6000 dinars. |
Besides the above-mentioned expenses, the student is
obliged to cover the following expenses during the first month of
his/her stay: |
- Issuing of student dormitory ID for whole academic year (1800 dinars)
- Enrollment costs (student booklet, application documents) (up to 1000 dinars)
- Coins for access to student restaurant (800 dinars)
- Issuing of public transportation card for the current academic year (optional, around 500 dinars with one-time charge for issuing about 500 dinars)

Student Health Center provides preventive protection for students and grant holders. Students/grant holders
who intend to spend longer periods in Novi Sad are advised to check if their national health insurance is valid in Serbia or obtain
international health insurance in their own country before arrival. |
VISA |
For entering Serbia from all EU countries and most developed countries students do not need visa. For all stays longer than 90 days students should apply for study visa either at their country of origin or in Serbia within 3 days after their arrival in Serbia. International Relations Office of the University of Novi Sad will provide all students Invitation Letters and support for getting visa. | The Center for Serbian as a Foreign
Language within the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Novi
Sad provides courses of Serbian language. These courses are not covered
by the grant. Students who study Serbian language as a second language may be exempt from payment for Serbian classes. |
