As one of nine member universities of the European University Alliance for Global Health – EUGLOH, the University of Novi Sad participated at the EUGLOH Annual Summit 2025, hosted by the University of Porto, Portugal, November 22-24, gathering more than 400 participants from 35 institutions and 18 countries.
Held under the motto “From Vision to Impact: European Universities Shaping EU Innovation and Competitiveness”, the EUGLOH Annual Summit 2025 brought together around 100 speakers and moderators. The rich conference programme encompassed 9 plenary sessions and round tables, 30 meetings and workshops, as well as several parallel events, including the EUGLOH 6th Annual Student Research Conference.
On behalf of the leadership of the University of Novi Sad, the Summit was attended by Prof. Dr. Dejan Madić, Rector, Prof. Dr. Otilija Sedlak, Vice-Rector for International Relations, and Prof. Dr. Biljana Pajin, Vice-Rector for Science and Art.
Among several main programme features, the Annual Summit also included the session dedicated to the best practices in pedagogical innovations, which were presented at the Workshop on Pedagogical Innovation: Best Practices Showcase. Among them were three best practices from the University of Novi Sad, which were presented in more detail by the two team members – Assistant Professor Dr. Stanka Radojičić and Živana Komlenov, both from the Faculty of Sciences UNS. The best practices in pedagogical innovations were identified through the previously open EUGLOH call, which concluded in the total of 21 proposals from seven partner universities.
Furthermore, two young researchers from the University of Novi Sad, Jovana Degenek (Faculty of Technology) and Maja Živanović (Institute of Food Technology), presented their scientific work at the EUGLOH 6th Annual Student Research Conference, organized as one of several parallel events during the Summit. On the first day of the Summit, the awards for the best student video “My European University” were also presented, including Dunja Stankić, the student from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Novi Sad.
The EUGLOH Annual Summit is held every year at a different member university. Since its first edition in 2021, it has become a flagship event for the Alliance, providing a platform for universities, researchers, students and partners to explore common challenges and opportunities while strengthening cooperation across borders.
EUGLOH Alliance brings together the rich educational backgrounds, cutting-edge research expertise and impressive infrastructural resources of nine leading universities from across Europe – Université Paris-Saclay, France, Lund University, Sweden, University of Szeged, Hungary, University of Porto, Portugal, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Germany, University of Alcalá, Spain, UiT The Arctic University of Norway, Norway, University of Novi Sad, Serbia, and University of Hamburg, Germany, all under the auspices of the European Commission’s European Universities Initiative. In 2026, the Annual Summit will be held at the University of Hamburg, Germany, from 15-16 September.
