Recently published Erasmus+ Annual Report 2024 by the European Commission highlighted the Blended Intensive Programme “Internet of Things and 3D Printing” EUGLOH 2.0 & Friends, among the selected examples of good practice within the Erasmus+ projects. This Erasmus+ BIP programme, created by the University of Novi Sad, was the only project coordinated by a HEI from the Republic of Serbia highlighted in this report.
The Erasmus+ Annual Report 2024 encompasses a detailed overview of the main achievements and activities within the Erasmus+ programme, also highlighting some of the examples of good practice within the specific Programme’s Activities and Priorities.
For the University of Novi Sad, having its BIP “Internet of Things and 3D Printing” highlighted among the examples of Erasmus+ good practices, represents an important international confirmation of the BIP’s quality, both in terms of its concept and content, and its implementation.
Internet of Things (IoT), which enables Internet networking of various devices and connecting them between each other, and 3D printing represent some of the most significant trends in modern technology, finding a widespread use and purpose in different fields, from industry to education. The team from the University of Novi Sad, led by Professor Đorđe Herceg from the Faculty of Sciences, who is also a former University Vice-Rector for Education, recognized those global trends as an interesting topic for the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme, and prepared a project proposal in 2022 with the support of UNS International Relations Office and in cooperation with the University of Porto (Portugal) and the University of Szeged (Hungary). The course drew student’s attention, registering a significant interest from both the students from partner universities in the EU, and the students from the University of Novi Sad itself.
The first edition of the programme was successfully held in the spring 2024, followed by the second edition in 2025. The third edition, which will be held in cooperation with the University of Porto, has been announced for the spring 2026, and currently accepts candidate applications coming from UNS and its partner universities from the EUGLOH Alliance and other European HEIs until the end of January next year.
