The University of Novi Sad student teams once more accomplished excellent international results in robotics. Three teams from the Department of Computing and Control Engineering of the Faculty of Technical Sciences - "Memristor", "µ" and "Mini µ" - successfully represented Serbia at the European Robotics Championship "Eurobot 2026", having completed their participation in the latest edition of Eurobot with the "Memristor" team winning the third place in the overall rankings.
The Eurobot 2026 competition was traditionally held in La Roche-sur-Yon, France. The event took place from 13 to 16 May 2026 and brought together 32 teams from Europe, Canada, Algeria and Taiwan.
The theme of this year's Eurobot competition was "Winter is Coming". Autonomous mobile robots were tasked with performing a series of actions that symbolically represented food gathering, preparing for winter like squirrels. The teams used one larger and several smaller autonomous robots during the matches, which lasted 100 seconds. The team, whose robots completed the most assigned actions and collected the most points, won.
After five rounds of group competition, the rankings of three Serbian teams were: 5th place (team "Memristor"), 6th place (team "µ"), and 12th place (team "Mini µ"). Following the elimination round, the team "Hyperion Robotics" from Greece won the first place in the final standings, while the team "DIT robotics" from Taiwan won the second place, and the third place went to the team "Memristor" from Serbia.
The University of Novi Sad has been truly proud of its students and their results in the international competitions in various study fields, ranging from technical sciences to social sciences, sports, and arts. Robotics has been one of those prominent fields of study and research, with a years-long tradition in high quality education.
