
Professor Dejan Jakšić was born on March 19, 1974 in Odžaci. He finished primary school and a secondary economics school in Novi Sad with great success. He continued his education at the Faculty of Economics in Subotica, where he graduated in 1998 on the module Information Systems. He completed his master's degree in 2001 at the Faculty of Economics in Subotica, on the module Financial Management. He defended his doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Economics in Subotica in 2004, gaining the title of Doctor of Economic Sciences.
After graduation he was employed full-time at the Faculty of Economics in Subotica. In the period 1998-2004 he was elected as a teaching assistant. After defending his doctoral thesis, he was elected an assistant professor (2004-2009). In 2009 he obtained the title of associate professor. Since 2014 he is elected to an academic rank of full professor at the Faculty of Economics in Subotica.
He is engaged at the Faculty of Economics in Subotica as a teacher on a group of courses from the field of Finance and Accounting. Professor Dejan Jakšić was the mentor of numerous final, graduate, and master theses. In addition, he was the mentor of several doctoral dissertations successfully defended at the Faculty of Economics in Subotica.
Professor Dejan Jakšić attended professional trainings in the United States of America. In 2003, he spent three months at the School of Business Administration in Portland, where he followed lectures, studied literature and worked on his doctoral dissertation. In 2006, he spent three weeks in the United States of America, where he became acquainted with the organization, functioning and funding of higher education in the United States of America through visits to universities and educational institutions.
Professor Dejan Jakšić speaks English (FCE – Cambridge Diploma) and has a good command of German (Zentrale Mittelstufenprüfung – Goethe Institut Zeugnis).
