The Senate is the highest professional body of the University, presided by the Rector. The Senate has 23 members: Rector, four Vice-Rectors, Deans of Faculties, Directors of Institutes and Student Vice-Rector. The Coordinator of ACIMSI, the President of the Committee for Quality Assurance and Internal Evaluation and presidents of the Senate Professional Boards participate in the Senate sessions without the right to decide.

When the Senate has to discuss the issues related to teaching quality, the reform of study programs, the analysis of the effectiveness of studies and the allocation of ECTS credit points, the Senate has 29 members, because six student representatives elected by the Student Parliament also take part in the sessions.
