Within the ЕUGLOH Alliance, the applications for the best student innovative idea competition – Idea challenge: Biomedical engineering for global health,
open for:
from nine partner institutions – Université Paris-Saclay (France), Lund University (Sweden), Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Germany), Universidade do Porto (Portugal), University of Szeged (Hungary), University of Alcalá (Spain), Universität Hamburg (Germany), University of Novi Sad (Republic of Serbia) and Tromsø University - The Arctic University of Norway (Norway) are ongoing.
The main topic of the competition is students’ innovative ideas in the field of biomedical engineering in global health. A student will submit his or her own innovative idea. After the evaluation of the individual applications, the teams will be matched from students from different EUGLOH universities and their field of an innovative idea.
The teams will have the chance to improve their chosen innovative idea upon two preparation webinars (one for the application and other for the pitching) and two mentoring 1:1 sessions (one with the science mentor and one with business consultant).
The online activities during September and October 2023 will be followed by a three-day programme at the University of Novi Sad. During the first two days of the onsite programme at UNS, students will broaden their knowledge through practical presentations of ongoing biomedical engineering projects, as well as through workshops, covering topics such as a proposal writing (Horizon), a moving up on TRL scale, and understanding a business part of an innovation. On the final day of the Challenge, the teams will have an opportunity to present their innovative ideas in front of a jury.
Deadlines:
After that, the committee will select ideas and group student into teams until October 30th 2023, when they will inform students who have been selected to come to the University of Novi Sad and present their idea through group work with colleagues from other EUGLOH universities.
