UNS HOSTED EUGLOH COURSE “MICROBIAL BIOACTIVE METABOLITES”

Within the EUGLOH Alliance, the University of Novi Sad hosted the course „Microbial bioactive metabolites“ from October to December 2023, which gathered students from two partner universities – Universidade do Porto (Portugal) and University of Szeged (Hungary).

The course offered principles of microbial culture isolation, cultivation and identification. The students were given a short project task in understanding principles of microbial metabolites and their application that they solved in groups. Course lecturer was Prof. Dr. Maja Karaman, full professor at Faculty of Sciences UNS.

The course was organized in a hybrid format, including both online and onsite segments of the programme. In addition, for those students who came to Novi Sad, the UNS EUGLOH student team organized social events, which contributed to their overall positive experience.
