The University of Novi Sad organized the Interdisciplinary Summer School for Chinese Students from 20th to 30th May 2017. The School offered lectures in a wide variety of subjects so as to give students an introduction to Serbia and Southeast Europe. The lectures were held by teaching staff from the Faculty of Philosophy, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Sciences and the Faculty of Economics of the University of Novi Sad on topics in the fields of history, politics (including changes in Southeast Europe since the breakup of Yugoslavia), culture, religion, literature, business and economics in Serbia, the legal system of the Republic of Serbia and the European Union, as well as the gastronomy of Serbia and Southeast Europe.
In addition to lectures, the summer school programme included sightseeing in Novi Sad, field trips in the vicinity of Novi Sad, cultural exchange activities with students from the University of Novi Sad, visits to Sombor, Subotica and Belgrade, as well as a reception for students at the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce organized by the Association of Chinese Businessmen.
The Interdisciplinary Summer School for Chinese Students was attended by 22 students from China (21 came from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and one student was from the Shanghai Jiao Tong University).
At the ceremony held on 29th May 2017 at the Central University Building, Rector of the University of Novi Sad Prof. Dr. Dušan Nikolić and Vice-Rector for International Affairs Prof. Dr. Sanja Stojanović awarded certificates of completion to the students and the lecturers.
