UNIVERSITY OF NOVI SAD REWARDED WITH 2018 BEST PARTNER OF CEAIE

The University of Novi Sad was awarded 2018 Best Partner of CEAIE, a high recognition by the China Education Association for International Exchange.

The University of Novi Sad was awarded 2018 Best Partner of CEAIE, a high recognition by the China Education Association for International Exchange – CEAIE, for its contribution to the activities of China-CEEC Higher Education Institutions Consortium.

The 2018 Best Partner of CEAIE recognition was presented to the University of Novi Sad on October 19, 2018, in Beijing, China, during the 19^th Session of China Annual Conference for International Educated hosted by CEAIE. On behalf of the University of Novi Sad, the Award was handed to Prof. Dr. Bojan Lalić, Head of the Secretariat of China-CEEC Higher Education Institution Consortium at the University of Novi Sad.

The high recognition by CEAIE was awarded to the University of Novi Sad for its contribution during its term as the Secretariat of the China-CEEC Higher Education Institutions Consortium, taking into consideration numerous activities of the University, focusing on strengthening academic ties between the universities from CEEC and China and participation in organisation of bilateral and multilateral meetings, that led to an increase in a number of European and Chinese universities joining the Consortium lately.

In September 2017, the University of Novi Sad has been selected as the new CEEC headquarters of the Secretariat of the Higher Education Institutions Consortium for cooperation between the People’s Republic of China and 16 Central and Eastern European Countries. The University of Novi Sad has been previously engaged intensively in a number of different activities focusing on cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the People’s Republic of China in the field of higher education, within the Chinese initiative Belt and Road and 16+1 Mechanism for cooperation between China and Central and East European Countries (CEEC). At the end of two international meetings that were held at the University of Novi Sad, September 21-22, 2017, the 5th China-CEECs Education Policy Dialogue and the 4th Meeting of Higher Education Institutions Consortium, the University of Novi Sad has been entrusted with a role of the CEEC Secretariat for the next two-year period.

In accordance with the defined goals and activities, the University of Novi Sad has realized its role as the European headquarters of the Secretariat of China-CEEC Higher Education Institutions Consortium together with the China Education Association for International Exchange – CEAIE that carries the role of the permanent headquarters of the Secretariat, based in China.
