VISIT AND LECTURE OF THE VICE-RECTOR OF NOVA UNIVERSITY LISBON

Vice-Rector of Nova University Lisbon Prof. Dr. João Amaro de Matos was a guest of the University of Novi Sad in the last week of January 2020. On this occasion, Professor de Matos held a lecture on the international strategy of the Nova University Lisbon that was held on January 30th, 2020, in the University of Novi Sad Central Building.

The lecture offered interesting and informative insight into the development of academic potential in contemporary teaching and research, as well as the social impact of the interdisciplinary dialogue of different partner institutions in international environment.

Professor de Matos lecture entitled "NOVA University International Strategy" was organized by the Club of the Professors Emeritus of the University of Novi Sad in cooperation with the University Rector's Office. The event was organized within the activities of the Project "Development of Study Programs in Higher Education", which is implemented with the financial support of the Provincial Secretariat for Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The moderators of the event were Prof. Dr. Dejan Jaksić, Rector of the University of Novi Sad, Prof. Emeritus Dr. Radmila Marinković-Nedučin and Prof. Emeritus Dr. Mirjana Vojinović Miloradov. The lecture was also attended by the Vice-Rectors of the University Prof. Dr. Sanja Podunavac-Kuzmanović, Prof. Dr. Dejan Madić and Prof. Dr. Stevan Stankovski.

Professor João de Matos is an internationally recognized expert in the fields of management and economics. His areas of research interest include corporate finance, investment and risk management. He is a visiting professor at numerous European and American higher education institutions (INSEAD, HEC Geneva, INSPER, Getúlio Vargas Foundation…). At Nova University Lisbon, he is particularly engaged in the field of internationalization and international cooperation. Successful research and educational activity, results, reputation and experience make Professor João de Matos an outstanding lecturer and interlocutor in the field of contemporary internationalization, networking of universities and enhancing international cooperation.

The University of Novi Sad and Nova University Lisbon have a successful long-term cooperation, which has been realized so far under the Erasmus + agreements. In addition, two universities intensified their joint activities on deepening the bilateral cooperation in the previous period, through investigating new forms and contents for cooperation, especially in view of the new financing possibilities of international cooperation offered by the current European Union programmes that focus on providing the support in the fields of international academic mobility, development of institutional cooperation in areas of innovation and exchange of examples of good practice, advancement of education policies and others.
