The tenth International Festival of Science and Education was held on May 12 and 13, 2018 on the central campus of the University of Novi Sad. This year’s festival was dedicated to the 240th anniversary of the establishment of Norma – the School for the Education of Serbian Teachers, founded in 1778 in Sombor, which is considered as one of the most significant predecessors of the present-day University of Novi Sad.

The high-level delegation of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) visited the University of Novi Sad on March 28, 2018 and it included Ms. Charlotte L. Warakaulle, Director for International Relations at CERN, Professor Eckhard Elsen, Director for Research and Computing at CERN, Professor Peter Levai, a delegate to the CERN Council for Hungary and Director-General of the Wigner Institute, Professor Emmanuel Tsesmelis, Head of Associate Member and Non-Member State Relations, and Mr. Andrzej Charkiewicz, Resources Manager of CMS. The gathering was also attended by Dr. Saša Lazović, Assistant Minister for Technological Development, Technology Transfer and Innovation System at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, and members of the Committee of the Republic of Serbia for relations with CERN: Prof. Dr. Petar Adžić, Dr. Aleksandar Bogojević, Prof. Dr. Đorđe Šijački and Dr. Aleksandar Belić, as well as Industrial Liaison Officer for CERN Mr. Đorđe Vuković.

Inter-regional Conference on Migrations was held in the Central University Building of the University of Novi Sad on February 22, 2018. The conference was organized by the Center for Strategic and Advanced Studies of the University of Novi Sad and it was dedicated to the topic of migrations from the point of view of two regions, the Adriatic-Ionian and the Balkan region, as well as to the improvement of the cooperation among the University of Novi Sad, the University of Trieste and the University of Bologna in this field.

The New Year's concert of the University of Novi Sad was held on 27 December 2017 in the Amphitheatre of the Central University Building. The concert was performed by the Novi Sad String Quartet, made of: Prof. Zoran Krajišnik, Petar Popović, Luka Jezdić and Stavan Jović.
